8 HOURS OF OSCHERSLEBEN : The victory in sight

The Team Kawasaki SRC will start tomorrow (Saturday) the Oschersleben 8 Hours from second on the starting grid. After Suzuka’s misfortunes, the Gilles Stafler team is ready again to fight for victory.

The general mood was focused on development work yesterday in the Team Kawasaki SRC stand. Back from Japan with the bikes having been seriously damaged after several crashes at Suzuka, the team had only two weeks to ready two new machines for the Oschersleben 8 Hours, which are taking place tomorrow Saturday from 12 to 20 h in Germany.

After some hard working practices and qualifying sessions, the Team Kawasaki SRC seems ready for this third FIM EWC World Championship round. The Kawasaki #11 will start from the 2nd place on the starting grid with Gregory Leblanc, Matthieu Lagrive and Fabien Foret.

"We are satisfied and reassured as we had a lot of work to do after all the Suzuka crashes at the end of July", said Gilles Stafler. “For the qualifications, we preferred to work our set ups on race tyres rather than getting the pole position at any price. And this afternoon in the second qualifying session, Fabien Foret improved his best lap on race tyres. That is a good omen for tomorrow. Our strategy is simple. We are at Oschersleben for victory".

Fabien Foret acknowledged to feel comfortable on the Oschersleben track. "This is where I scored my first Superstock podium in 2000 and I took my first victory in 2001".
