Le Mans pole position for Team SRC Kawasaki

The SRC Kawasaki took the Le Mans 24 Hours pole position after some highly disputed qualifications. The Gilles Stafler team proves once again its high performance level and their riders homogeneity.

Like last year, the Team SRC Kawasaki will lead the grid for the Le Mans 24 Hours start. Gregory Leblanc, Matthieu Lagrive and Fabien Foret managed to hold back their competitors and signed the qualifications best average with a 1’37.188 ahead of Yart in 1’37.202.

Fabien Foret made impression during the first qualifying session on Thursday by signing the best individual laptime in 1’36.900. Matthieu Lagrive was close in 1’37.125 and Gregory Leblanc did his best laptime Friday during the second session in 1’37.541. The SRC Kawasaki shows then a remarkable, homogeneous and experienced trio of riders. This pole position sounds as good omen for starting the 2015 season, where Team SRC Kawasaki has no other ambition than the World Title.

Gilles Stafler, SRC Kawasaki team manager
The pole position gives us an advantage to beat traffic at turn one, but it’s also a great asset for Kawasaki’s image. That reflects the team and riders work. Our main card is our homogeneity, as our riders are lapping within a few tenths of a second bracket in race tire. We also have a good support with our tires, and we’d proven the reliability of our bike on a 24 hours format”.

Gregory Leblanc, Team SRC Kawasaki rider
We’ve been working hard for this pole. I encountered some traffic yesterday during my hot laps but I’ve been faster today on race tires, so I feel great for the race. The pole position is just a bonus”.

Fabien Foret, Team SRC Kawasaki rider
I’d love to improve my laptime from yesterday but I did not try the softer tires today. The target was to practice in race conditions. That’s the most important to last the 24 hours race”.

Matthieu Lagrive, Team SRC Kawasaki rider
The pole position is a bonus but we proved that we are ready for the race. We’ve been working hard during these two sessions and we obviously found some good solutions”.
